Open Enrollment

It’s almost that time again; time to look at and renew your insurance plans.

I thought it was a great time to share with you our viewpoint on insurance plans.

If you are seeing a mental health provider in our practice, the insurance plan that works best for us is Care First, Blue Cross Blue Shield. They allow more practitioners to provide services therefore, you have more options for who you can see, which gives you more flexibility for dates and times.

It’s important to look at your deductible at this time as well. If your deductible is high, you will have to pay that before insurance begins to pay your fees for therapy. This sometimes catches people off guard when they know they have good insurance and suddenly see a large fee. Know that you can meet the deductible by any health care services.

Another thing to note would be the amount of your co-pays. If you have 30-dollar co-pay and see your provider weekly, that will be 120 dollars per month. Make sure and check on that as well. Co-pays are usually charged until the out of pocket maximum is met.

Our office accepts Care First-Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Tricare and State Insurance plans. Make sure and look at your plan when you are renewing to ensure you have the best possible option for insurance to help cover your mental health needs.
