Arlee Buchanan

LCSW-C, Psychotherapy

From a young age, Arlee has been interested in exploring the complexity of the human experience. After graduating with a Bachelor of Psychology degree from University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2005, Arlee spent much of his career working with foster care youth as a caseworker. A desire to move into a more clinical environment led him to pursue a Master of Social Work degree, and he graduated from Salisbury University in 2017, receiving his LCSW-C in 2021. In addition to a background with foster youth, Arlee has experience with veterans, those struggling with substance use disorders, and individuals with a history of trauma.

A proud member of Southern Maryland’s LGBTQ+ community, Arlee brings to his practice not only experience and knowledge of topics related to gender and sexuality but a commitment to serving diverse clientele. He takes a Humanistic approach to the therapeutic experience, utilizing a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems Therapy. When not in the office, Arlee can be found at home with his family gardening, caring for his flock of ducks, and indulging in his love of all things geeky.
