Jenette Thompson is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) based in Maryland, dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey to better mental health and well-being. With a strong educational background and diverse life experiences, Jenette brings a unique perspective to the field of counseling.
Jenette earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland University College, setting the stage for her career in mental health. She continued her academic journey by obtaining a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2023.
During her academic pursuits, Jenette demonstrated her commitment to the community and the ethical future of psychological science. She actively participated in prestigious honors societies such as Psi Chi, Alpha Chi, and Epsilon, further enhancing her knowledge and dedication to her field.
Notably, Jenette recently retired from a distinguished twenty-two-year career in the Active-Duty Air Force. Her military service provided her with invaluable life experience, allowing her to work with diverse populations in various countries as a medic. This experience also led her to collaborate closely with the mental health community, where she witnessed the profound impact of mental health care on individuals and communities.
Jenette’s journey in therapy and counseling began as an intern in August 2022. Since then, she has worked with a wide range of clients, specializing in helping individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, and trauma. Her therapeutic approach is founded on creating an inclusive, safe, and genuine environment where clients can embark on their path towards healing and personal growth.
