Jordan Atwell

I am a dedicated mental health professional with a strong academic background and a deep commitment to fostering positive change in the lives of individuals. My educational journey began with the pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland, Global Campus, where I proudly graduated in 2020. During my time there, I was honored to become an alumnus of Pi Gamma Mu, the Social Sciences Honors Society.

Continuing my pursuit of knowledge and my passion for social work, I went on to earn my Master of Social Work degree from Salisbury University in 2022. My dedication to excellence in the field of social work was further recognized as I became an alumnus of the Phi Alpha Honors Society during my time at Salisbury University.

My professional journey also includes experience in conducting SAFE Home Studies for resource parents in St. Mary’s County, an endeavor that underscored the importance of providing a safe and nurturing environment for individuals and families in need.

After two years of being privileged to serve as an MSW-Student Intern at Serenity Place, I have chosen to take on a full-time staff role. My time as an intern allowed me to observe and learn from my colleagues in various settings, ultimately shaping my approach to therapy. I am deeply committed to a humanistic approach, where the therapeutic relationship is built on trust, empathy, and creating a safe space for clients to share their experiences.

In collaboration with my clients, I am dedicated to helping them achieve their goals and find overall happiness in their mental health journey. I believe in the resilience of the human spirit, and as the Japanese proverb says, “Fall down seven times, stand up eight.” Life may present challenges, but there is always an opportunity to rise and continue moving forward.

I look forward to working alongside you on your path to personal growth and well-being, providing support, guidance, and a safe environment for your healing journey.
