Mike Burger

Mike received his Bachelor of Science in psychology and his Master of Arts in mental health counseling from Bowie State University. He currently holds graduate licensure in mental health counseling.
Mike has worked in the substance abuse field since 2017. Working in both in-patient and outpatient settings. Mike has primarily worked with adults ages 18 and older. Mike has some experience with couples and family therapy as well.
Mike is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which assists in helping people to see the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. After helping people to see this relationship Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps people to change their thoughts and thought patterns to more helpful ones which in turn helps people to change their behavior and better manage their feelings. While Mike is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, he prefers to take an integrated approach to therapy, drawing from several different modalities to create an individualized approach to each person he works with.
